Bonafide JUICY, Tender and Flavoursome.
So how it all started? Three Muslim friends wanted to make good quality halal burgers without alienating non-muslims. The results are pretty impressive and now Smokehouse restaurant group (Meat & Shake) have opened two new sites this summer, in Ealing and Watford with the original site in Tooting.
Both meaty and vegetarian. Vegetarian? Go for the Rotsie Potsie; Meaty? Smoking Bandit and Lafayette Wings. We tried the Truffle Shuffle, a beef patty with truffle mayo, gruyere cheese, honey & onion truffle glaze and main event for us – The Smoking Bandit — with chipotle mayo, smokey cheddar, smoked turkey bacon, lettuce, tomato, sautéed onions and ‘plenty of smoke’ from within a dome containing your burger which cascades over the table, really gives it a unique feel. The burgers are made with ground 35 day aged beef and cooked slightly pink. Perfect.
The milkshakes are a great addition but make sure you leave room for the burger, they’re huge! Sides? Delicious Sweet Potato or Rosemary Fries. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. With a crowd? Go for the “Roulette” Chicken Wings – but watch out!
